Abstract
In this study, clinoptilolite which is cheap and readily attainable source of our country was used as an adsorbent to remove Ni ions from synthetic solutions and wastewater of metal coating process. The aim of study was to investigate the industrial availability of this natural resource. The parameters influencing the adsorption process such as initial concentration, mixing speed, adsorbent dose and temperature were investigated and optimum conditions to be applied to industrial wastewater were determined. The best removal efficiency was found to be 81.59 from experimental studies conducted with 50 mg/L Ni solutions and 8g/L adsorbent dose that mixed for 50 minute at 25 ±2 0 C. The results of batch experiment studies conducted in optimum conditions and at 45 0 C were used to investigate harmony with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. It was determined that removal of Nickel ions by using zeolit was suitable for both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms at 25±2 oC but Freundlich isotherm was more suitable than Langmuir isotherm at 45±2 oC for this adsorption process . Freundlich isotherm coefficient at 45±2 oC was 0,97. Correlation coefficients for Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were found to be 0.99 and 0.94, respectively at 25±2 oC.
