Abstract
Leptin adipositler tarafından üretilen sitokin benzeri bir peptid hormonudur.Primer kaynağı viseral ve subkutan yağ dokusudur.Plasenta, gastrik epitelyum, iskelet kası, hipofiz ve meme bezi gibi çeşitli dokularda üretilir ve plazmaya salınır.Besin alımı ve vücut ağırlığını düzenler.Buna ek olarak, üremede endokrin, üreme ve immün cevapta önemli rol oynamaktadır.Bir çok hastalığın patogenezinde leptinin rolü araştırılmaktadır.
