Episiotomy Repair With Calf Tongue Simulators

Determining whether or not using calf tongue simulators in repairing episiotomy increases students’ knowledge and skill levels. Materials and Methods: The study in the form of a single-group “pretest-posttest” pretrial was carried out in April 2019 with students of midwifery (n=66). During episiotomy repair simulation training, suture techniques were shown by using calf tongue simulators. The data were collected by using a personal information form, while the Episiotomy Knowledge Levels Assessment Form and Episiotomy Repair Skill Levels Assessment Form were used for the pretest and posttest. Results: As a result of the simulation training, increases were observed in episiotomy knowledge and repair skill levels in comparison to the pre-training period (p
