Generally, in literary, particularly in Arabic literature the use of symbols occupies an important place. The Palestinian resistance writhers used symbols in order to express more clearly the feelings. When they formed their works, attributed meanings to the words as much as they can carry to pass along the difficulties and cultural siege which they exposed in their own lands. And the successed it with literary. Sameh el-Kasem used famous symbols with using both historical and literary texts. when he was using religious symbols he preferred symbols from the texts of Koran, the Bible and Torah. While he was selecting historical symbols he used important historical figures in Arab history like Tarek bin Zeyad, Selahaddin Eyyubi. Also he symbolized natural figures, and used olive and palm trees as powerful symbols. In addition to this, he deftly used the symbols such as desert, sun and rain which are greatly used by classical Arabic, in his works while conveying the Palestinian resistance. Sameh el-Kasem who uses himself the pseudonyms of Arabic literature, has become the one of symbolic names of Palestinian resistance literature. His fearless defense of the Palestinian cause against the invaders with his pen has played a major role in his recognition.
