ABSTRACT: This study identified the fundamental factors determining the sustainability of forage crop production. Sustainability is a concept directed towards the balanced utilization of natural resources, ensuring the fulfillment of future generations’ needs. Conducted using data from 306 farms in the Erzurum province, Turkey, this research investigated the impact of factors such as producers’ age, income levels, non-agricultural earnings, and education levels on the desire to continue forage crop production. The regression analysis was performed in the R program with probit model. The findings notably demonstrate the influence of age, non-agricultural income, agricultural support, and educational attainment on forage crop production. Overall, this study delineated key elements shaping sustainability in forage crop production, offering crucial guidance for future endeavors.
