This study aims to determine the applicability of contemporary history teaching taking stand from the views of history teachers in the sample of Erzurum. To this end, it was targeted to present the training of teachers about curriculum, their views about the necessity of lesson and course book, resources that they use in lesson, problems encountered during lesson and students' attitudes and opinions towards lesson. Qualitative research approach and descriptive survey model were used in this research. The research sampling consisted of randomly selected 15 history teachers who working in city center of Erzurum city. Semi-structured interview technique was used to find teachers' opinions. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. According to the findings, it was found that teachers are not well trained about the subjects of this lesson, they consider this lesson to be necessary to protect students from ideological obsessions and to enable them to acquire general knowledge about current issues, they consider course book to be sufficient and interesting with its images and they regard content to be beyond the levels of students. Teachers stated that they encounter problems such as; the lack of resource and materials, the lesson is given at the latest grade, curriculum includes excessive amount of subjects and information, lack of knowledge and experience about course content, lack of background knowledge of students. According to teachers, almost half of students are interested in this lesson.
