OZET Gunumuzdeki turizm faaliyetlerinin hedefi, surdurUlebilir bir turizm gerceklestirmektir. Dunyada turizmi tesvik eden motivasyon kaliplarindaki degismeler nedeniyle, turizmde yeni ve alternatif turistik ve sportif aktiviteler gundeme gelmistir. Bu aktivitelerden birisi de cim kayagidir. Cim kayagi, yilin en az uc mevsiminde yapilabilmesi nedeniyle, sadece bir mevsimde surdurulebilen kis sporlarina alternatif teskil etmistir. Bu spor 1980'1i yillarda Fransa ve Kuzey Avrupa'da baslamis ve son 17 yilda tum Dunyaya yayilmistir. Bu nedenle, Dunyada onemli cim kayagi merkezleri olusmustur. Bu durum turistik akisi da etkilemis, ekoturizm ve sportif amacli turizm hareketlerini de hizlandirmistir. Dunyada meydana gelen bu gelisme, buyuk potansiyel tasiyan Turkiye'de henuz tam anlamiyla degerlendirilememistir. Bununla birlikte, bir Dunya sampiyonasina ev sahipligi yapmis Demirtas Baraji Cim Kayagi Merkezi, Turkiye icin oncu bir rol ustlenmistir. ABSTRACT The objective of today's touristic activities is to the realize a sustainable tounsm. Because of the changes in the motivation patterns that encourage tourism, newand altemative touristic and sportive activities have come to the fare. One of these activities is grass skiing, which has constituted an altemative to one-season winter sports because it can be done in at least three seasons, except for the winter. This new sport began in France and North Europe in the 1980s, having extended to all the world in the recent 17 years. Therefore, important grass skiing centres have deve10ped all over the world. This recent development has also influenced the tounstic flow and accelerated the ecotourism and sportive tourism mavements. This development in the world has not been evaluated well enough in Turkey though our country is possessed of a high potenhaL However, Grass Skiing Centre of Demirtas Dam, having hosted a world championship, seems to have undertaken a pioneering role for Turkey.
