Abstract
This methodological study evaluated the Turkish validity and reliability of the Maternal Sex during Pregnancy (MSP) and Partner Sex during Pregnancy (PSP) scales among pregnant women and their partners. Two independent samples were used for exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. Content validity was assessed through expert opinions, while parallel-form validity was evaluated using Pearson correlation analysis. Convergent validity was examined using composite reliability (CR) and average variance extracted (AVE) values. The content validity index was 0.96 for the maternal form and 0.95 for the paternal form. Exploratory factor analysis supported a single-factor structure, explaining 55.30% of the variance for MSP and 54.99% for PSP. Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated acceptable to good model fit. Significant positive correlations were found between the MSP and PSP scales and the Attitudes Toward Sexuality During Pregnancy Scale (r = 0.650 and r = 0.727, respectively; p < 0.001). Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were 0.880 for MSP and 0.905 for PSP. The findings indicate that the Turkish versions of the MSP and PSP scales are valid and reliable tools for assessing attitudes toward sexuality during pregnancy.
