The Effect of Artificial Intelligence Anxiety on Turnover Intention: A Study on Hotel Enterprises

The increasing integration of artificial intelligence technologies into business processes significantly influences employees’ perceptions and anxiety levels regarding these technologies. Accordingly, this study aims to examine the impact of artificial intelligence anxiety on employees’ turnover intentions. The population of the study consists of individuals employed in five-star hotel enterprises operating in Istanbul. The research sample was selected using convenience sampling. Data collection was conducted via a questionnaire administered to 400 participants. Primary statistical analyses of the obtained data were performed using SPSS 21, while SmartPLS 3 was used to test the research model and hypotheses. The research results indicate that artificial intelligence anxiety has a positive impact on turnover intention. Furthermore, it was determined that the learning and job replacement dimensions of artificial intelligence anxiety exert a positive influence on turnover intention. However, the findings suggest that sociotechnical blindness and artificial intelligence configuration dimensions of artificial intelligence anxiety do not have a significant impact on turnover intention. In line with the findings, theoretical and practical recommendations have been presented.
