Homework Policies in Primary Schools

The aim of this study is to analyze the current homework policies in primary schools within the intended research group.The study was conducted by gathering the opinions of teachers and administrators to evaluate what level the teachers care about homework techniques and whether planned homework applications are already used. The research design of this study is case study, a holistic single case design was used to evaluate the factors affecting homework policy decisions in primary school level. To reveal the current homework policies implemented at schools, maximum diversity sampling method was used in the study. Within the scope of the study in 2023–2024 academic year the schools were chosen in the central districts of Gaziantep. As a result of the study, it was revealed that a student-centered approach should be taken into account and also students’ socioeconomic status should be evaluated as a significant factor in the efficiency of homework.
