Özet

İngilizce (OpenAlex)

This paper investigates the potential for probiotics to transform horse-breeding techniques by improving gut health, immunological function, reproductive performance, and general horse well-being. The complex interaction between the gut microbiota and horse health is addressed, stressing the negative consequences of gut symbiosis. Probiotics are proposed as a viable alternative, providing several benefits to breeding efforts. The article investigates the particular effects of probiotics on mares, stallions, and offspring. There are many studies reporting that probiotics can increase pregnancy rates and foal development, as well as reduce infections in the reproductive organs. Promising probiotic strains are found, along with critical selection criteria. The significance of optimal dosing, administration, and integration with other management methods is highlighted. Finally, the analysis emphasizes the need for more research to fully realize the promise of probiotics in equestrian breeding. By embracing this new frontier, horse breeders may help to make the equine industry healthier and more prosperous.
