Cr + 6 ions that occur during various reactions during the use of basic character refractory materials used in the sinter region of cement rotary kilns cause harmful toxic effects. Since magnesite-chromium refractories have this toxic effect, alternative magnesite-spinel and magnesite-hersinite refractories have been developed. Three different types of refractory materials (magnesite-chrome, magnesite-spinel and magnesite-hersinite) were produced in this work. These produced three different refractories are compared with a variety of physical (density, porosity and strength and refractivity test under load (RUL) and chemical (XRF, XRD) analyzes and microscopic structures. As a result of the tests made, it was measured that there was no significant change in density and porosity values and that the strength value gave the best result with 75.23 (N / mm 2 ) value in magnesite-hersinite refractor. It is also determined from the RUL test that all three refractory materials can be used between 1450-1500 ° C.
