Green Transition in Practice Organizational Learning and the Evolution of Ecological Competence

This chapter examines how the green transition functions as a dynamic learning mechanism that enables organizations to develop ecological competencies over time. Rather than treating environmental initiatives as static practices, the chapter conceptualizes the green transition as a catalyst for continuous organizational learning, adaptation, and innovation. It discusses how feedback loops, knowledge sharing, and experiential learning processes contribute to the evolution of ecological competence within organizations. Drawing on organizational learning theory and sustainability literature, the chapter argues that organizations integrating green transformation into learning systems are better able to respond to environmental uncertainties, regulatory changes, and stakeholder expectations. The chapter concludes by positioning ecological competence as a strategic outcome of a learning-focused green transformation practice.
