The theories on the emotional development deduced and inferred from the observations of\nthe infants and their possible applications in the emotional experiences of the adults are reviewed.\nThe concepts included are those of affective attachment, separation and loss described\nby Bowlby; the different senses of self and related affects described by Stern; the affective\nregulation according to multidisciplinary perspective proposed by Emde and the author�s own\nconsiderations. Taking into account the most recent investigations in biological evolution, neurosciences\nand evolutionary psychology, the author accepts the existence of the phylogenetic\ninheritance, the complexity of the increasing organization (complexity theory), the individuality\nand the singularity with certain degree of autodetermination (freedom), and therefore, the indetermination\nof the conduct of the human being.
