Optical Properties of Composite Resins: An In Vitro Investigation of Different Polishing Procedures

Background: This study aimed to compare and evaluate the color stability and translucency of different composite resins subjected to various polishing procedures.Methods: Three different composite resins (G-aenial Achord-GA, Charisma Topaz One-CTO, Charisma Bulk Flow One-CBF) and three different polishing procedures (Diamond Polish Mint, Lucida, and Super-Snap) were included in this study. Thirty samples of each composite resin were prepared and randomly divided into three groups (n=10). Polishing procedures of the test groups were conducted. The baseline color values of all the samples were measured using a spectrophotometer. After a 14-day coffee immersion, color measurements were repeated. White and black background measurements were carried out before (TP001) and after coffee immersion (TP002) for translucency calculations. Data were analyzed using Jamovi v2.3.28.
