Özet

İngilizce (OpenAlex)

In the present study, the effects of cutting parameters on surface roughness were investigated in order to determine the optimum machining conditions for the hot work tool steel (155 HB), which is an important part of the mold industry. For this purpose, the machining tests were conducted on 1.2344 steel using a CNC turning center under dry cutting conditions. The experimental design was performed according to Taguchi's L9 orthogonal array at three different levels which are cutting speeds (140, 180 and 220 m/min), feed rate (0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 mm/rev), and depth of cut (0.4, 0.8 and 1.2 mm). The effects of cutting parameters on surface roughness were determined through variance analysis (ANOVA). According to the obtained results, it was determined that the most effective parameter for the surface roughness is cutting speed (55.4%).
