Aim: This study was conducted to investigate the clinical preparation levels of newly graduated nurses and the factors that affect this preparation.Method: This research, which is a descriptive cross-sectional study, was developed to measure the clinical preparation levels of new graduate nurses, and the data was collected with the "Nursing Practice Readiness Scale" and Personal Information Form.Research was conducted through an online survey shared on social media platforms for newly graduated nurses in Türkiye and 437 newly graduated nurses participated. For statistical analysis, parametric tests such as the Independent Sample t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation, supported by the Shapiro-Wilk test were used. Results: In this study, the nurses' "Nursing Practice Readiness Scale" was at a high level with an average score of 111.41.Participants' average scores in subdimensions of "Patient-Centeredness", "Self-Control" and "Collaborative Interpersonal Relations" were found to be at a high level. However, it was found that participants had a medium-level average score in subdimension of "Clinical Judgment and Nursing Performance" and a low-level average score in subdimension of "Professional Behaviors".A statistically significant difference was found in the mean scale scores of the nurses according to their working hours. It was determined that the mean scores of the nurses increased as their working hours increased. Conclusion:In this study, it was observed that academic success, level of readiness, and working time directly affect professional preparation during the education process. However, nursing performance and professional behaviors need to be improved. In this regard, it is recommended that preparation, performance, and behavior criteria for the profession be defined during the education process of nursing students, increased by strengthened practices, and implemented through post-graduation supportive programs.
