TÜRK HİKÂYECİLİĞİNDE HALDUN TANER İN YERİ VE KİTAPLARINDA YER ALMAYAN TÖHMET ADLI İLK HİKÂYESİ

Newspapers and journals have important role in recognition of genre of story in Turkish Literature –as it is in World Literature. Some inevitable defects in the first samples published in newspapers and journals were got over thanks to Ömer Seyfettin and especially Halit Ziya in the era of National Literature; the style of Western Story was mostly gained. After a story understanding which was written with a simple language and headed Anatolia in the era of National Literature, our story improved in such a level that it managed to give works equal to its samples from World Liturature in the 50s. Haldun Taner whose works were translated into many languages and who got several reward abroad and represented Turkish Story Authors in the scene of World Literature was one of the most influential story author of the his era. Haldun Taner is a story writer who narrates the flaws and humurous element in social life to his readers with a simple language. His broad cultural background and his understanding of respecting every idea have also effects on his stories. In our work, his first story called “Töhmet” which doesn’t take place in any of his books and in which the view of society to woman and the effect of society to individual is examined succesfully is studied thematically and structurally and a special example of Haldun Taner stories is presented.
