During Cold War, Turkey became a staunch ally of western world and this was always taken for granted. However, with end of history,1 many started to question its position in world. According to recent debates, Turkey would become one of most important key countries in clash of civilizations, because it is located in a very fragile area of world.2 The basic assumption of such an argument is that as the star of Islam, Turkey's position in western world seemed to be increasingly uncertain, particularly when compared with past.3
