Osmanlılar da Balistik ve Modern Fizik İlişkisi

Throughout the history, scientific improvements have shown parallelism with the technologic developments. The ballistic and artillery studies conducted in Europe have had a crucial role in the development of kinematics and dynamics which are two of the branches of the mechanics. Galileo, as a military engineer, had always emphasized the importance of artillery in his kinematics studies. Similarly, Newton had also used artillery for his friction force of air researches. The Ottomans, from the beginning of 19th century, had started receiving the modern kinetics theories together with the effort of the military engineers. Among them, Huseyin Rifki Tamani and Bashoca Ishak Efendi’s considerable efforts leaded off the acceptance of modern kinematics and dynamics by Ottoman Empire in the 19th century.
