Exploring predictors of treatment adherence in adult patients with diabetes mellitus: the role of coping strategies

Aims: This study aimed to explore the relationship between coping strategies and treatment adherence, and to identify which coping strategies predict adherence among adult patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Methods: A cross-sectional design was used. The research was conducted at a state hospital in Diyala, Iraq, 01-31 May 2023. In this study, patients with DM were selected using the purposive sampling method (n=151). The data were collected using the Sociodemographic Information Form, Iraq Anti-diabetic Drug Adherence Scale, and Brief Coping Scale through face-to-face interviews with patients.
