Background Death is one of the natural processes of life and an integral part of human existence. Forensic medicine is one of the disciplines within the health services that directly encounter death. The study aimed to explore the perspectives of forensic medicine specialists regarding death.Methods Phenomenological design was used in the study. The sample consisted of 12 forensic medicine specialists. The study data were analyzed using MAXQDA software with a thematic analysis method.Result The main themes of the views held by forensic medicine specialists were determined as the definition, perspective, and effects of death. The definition of the concept of death have been evaluated in two categories: objective and subjective.Concluisons The participants’ expressions regarding the concept of death were evaluated in the categories of job, finality, and belief under the theme of perspective. It is suggested that psychological and social support can be provided to forensic medicine specialists.
