Özet

İngilizce (OpenAlex)

This study was conducted to determine whether there is a correlation between the spirituality and the suicide probability in individuals with mental illness. This study was correlational and cross-sectional in design. The sample size was determined to be 162 individuals with mental illness using G*power analysis. Individuals participating in the study were selected by the simple random sampling method. Descriptive Characteristics Form, Spirituality Scale (SS), and Suicide Probability Scale (SPS) were used to collect data. There was a statistically negative and weak correlation between SS and SPS (r = -.171, p < .05). It can be said that spirituality can be used as a protective factor to reduce the suicide probability of individuals with mental illness in Turkish sample.
