Özet

OpenAlex İngilizce

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a widely performed cardiac surgery, but postoperative complications remain a concern. The HALP (hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, and platelet) score is an emerging immunonutritional marker. This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of the postoperative HALP score in predicting adverse events after elective CABG. This retrospective study included 153 patients undergoing elective CABG with cardiopulmonary bypass. Adverse events were defined as prolonged intubation, prolonged intensive care unit stay, acute renal failure, cardiogenic shock, infection, and in-hospital mortality. The occurrence of at least one of these events was considered an adverse event. HALP scores were calculated using blood sample values obtained during the postoperative period, and their correlation with adverse events was analyzed. A low lymphocyte count, low albumin levels, and elevated platelet count were significantly associated with adverse events. Additionally, lower HALP scores were associated with adverse events (p < 0.001). Logistic regression revealed that a higher HALP score reduced the risk of adverse events by 99.3% (OR: 0.007, p = 0.013). ROC analysis showed that a HALP score of ≤ 10.93 effectively predicted adverse events (AUC: 0.997, sensitivity: 96.77%, specificity: 99.18%). HALP score is a strong predictor of adverse outcomes after CABG. Routine assessment may aid early risk identification and improve postoperative management.
