A family is a community of people who are related to each other through associations established by blood or marriage. The phenomenon of family/kinship constitutes a dimension of the context, which means the atmosphere/environment of formation for folk poetry. It has been pointed out by the researchers that there are several basic influences in the formation of the "poet-minstrel tradition", which is a culture-art-literature tradition formed by folk poets and extending beyond millennia. One of them is the Alevi culture. The Alevi culture, which has a rich and deep-rooted tradition as a part and colour of Turkish literature, has trained many poets. Kinship, which is a general attitude and context element in minstrel poetry, is also in question for Alevi minstrels. It can be said that the Alevi folk poets of the Kahramanmaraş region, which constitutes the framework of the study, constitute such a large group that they can form a voluminous anthology. With this study, 32 Alevi families and 105 minstrels/poets belonging to these families were identified in the Maraş region. In the study, the status of the related minstrels on a district-village basis, the chronological position of the people, their kinship status and pseudonyms were expressed and the results were evaluated.
