The Cosmopolitan and Entrepreneurial City: Urban Reimagination in Gaziantep

In this article, we examine cultural production in the South Eastern city of Gaziantep in Turkey. Recently, old urban center restoration and a new wave of museum centered city life have emerged as a salient phenomenon of the daily lives of the city dwellers. This article explores the notions of cosmopolitan and entrepreneurial city with its potentials of distinction. Drawing on theoretical work concerning the concept of cosmopolitan and entrepreneur city genre that has proliferated in recent years, the article will explore the characteristics of this genre and new forms of inequalities.
