Neuroimaging in Optic Neuropathies

Optic neuropathy is a frequent cause of vision loss encountered during routine ophthalmology practice. While some of the cases can be easily diagnosed due to symptoms and examination findings, a significant group of them require neuroimaging tests for differential diagnosis. Imaging examinations such as magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, doppler ultrasonography, magnetic resonance, and computed tomography angiography provide valuable clues in differential diagnosis when used in appropriate clinical scenarios.
