We examine the structure of unital associative superalgebras [Formula: see text] having nonzero superderivations with zero or invertible values. Under some mild assumptions, we show that such a superalgebra [Formula: see text] is either a division superalgebra [Formula: see text], or [Formula: see text], or it is a local superalgebra with a unique maximal graded ideal [Formula: see text] such that [Formula: see text]. We also describe in details the local superalgebras that are possible.
