Before the restoration and conservation applications, as well as researching the architectural, historical, artistic and aesthetic features of the buildings, conducting archaeometric examinations is of great importance in terms of determining the materials for restoration to be selected in accordance with the original structure. Archaeometric studies of Msellim Mosque structural materials were included; stone / bricks that comes from the main building material of wall braids with their joint, and the plaster covering the joints and stone / brick, the railing and mosque's wooden window covers and wall braiding's beam, original / repair tiles covering the walls surface, and paintings on plaster and wood from the decorative examples of the mosque. Samples of structural and decorative materials that are the subject of the study; Visually evaluated in the field and laboratory, grouped by material types, photographed, documented and coded. Within the scope of archaeometric studies, the basic physical properties of stone and brick samples were determined by physical tests, water soluble salt content and salt types were determined by conductometric analysis. In mortars and plasters, aggregate / binder and grain size distribution (granulometric) analyzes were applied. The petrographic properties of the structural samples (brick, mortar and plaster / plaster layers) were analysed by thin section optical microscope analysis, and chemical properties were determined by X-Ray Fluorescence (PED-XRF) analysis. Color values of pigment / glaze samples were identified by chromametric analysis, and their chemical composition was defined by Raman Analysis. The original stone / brick joint and rubble filling mortars of the buildings have lime and lime/clay mixed binder contents. The structural stones used in the construction of Msellim Mosque are limestones. In addition, marble-type stones, which are used in wall braiding for decorative purposes were also sampled. Structural stones used in the mosque directly reflect the local rock formation.
